Cecily strong

  Cecily Legler Strong was born on February 8 1984. She is an American actor and comedian. Strong is well-known because she was a part-time cast member of the NBC sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live from 2012 until 2022. Strong has the longest tenure of a female actor in the history of the show. Strong was performing in improv in The Second City, Chicago in the year she graduated from CalArts. She was later employed by SNL. She currently plays a leading role in the Apple TV+ musical comedy series Schmigadoon! She co-produces the show (2021 to the present).



 



 Other roles she's been in including voice acting in The Awesomes (2013-2015), and supporting roles in movies such as Ghostbusters, The Meddler and The Female Brain. In 2015 she was the host of the White House Correspondents' Dinner. Her debut book, a memoir This Will All Be Over Soon, was published in 2021.



 



 She was nominated by Primetime Emmy Awards at the 72nd and 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards as Outstanding Supporting Artist in the Comedy Series for her work on Saturday Night Live.



 



 Early life



 Strong was born in Springfield, Illinois, and was raised in Oak Park, an inner ring suburb of Chicago. Strong is the daughter of Penelope and William "Bill" Strong, who served as the Associated Press bureau chief and until 2013 was running his own public relations firm. Penny Legler Strong, a nurse practitioner who worked extensively in area hospitals, is now retired. Strong was the child of divorced parents. Strong was fascinated by SNL from a young age. She was a fan of watching her friends re-enact sketches and watching old SNL commercials via VHS. "I had a tape with the most memorable commercials, and I wore it out every day." She said that Phil Hartman was her hero.
