Gugulethu Sophia Mbatha, better known as Gugu Mbatha-Raw, is one of the well-known British stage and film actress which gained more attention because she was a part of"Doctor Who" (a British science-fiction TV show) show that aired on the BBC channel. Gugu earned a significant amount of fame by appearing as Tish Jones, who was the younger sister of the major character Martha Jones, in the drama. Her mother is a German who emigrated into the United States from Germany in 1958. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1989 and died after battling cancer for the past ten years. Handler is a reform Jew Her father was Jewish. Handler enjoyed a pleasant and healthy growing up in an affluent community. When she was in her early 20s Handler moved in Los Angeles in order to pursue acting. Handler employed as an actor to earn a living for herself. Handler's storytelling ability was discovered as she reached the age of 21. Handler then decided to devote her full-time career to stand up comedy. Handler began her stand-up career being a part of the female-only Oxygen group, who starred in a TV show known as Girls Behaving BADLY. This series was known for its hidden camera and the practical joke. The show ran from 2002 to 2005. Handler worked on many other shows like Weekends at D.L. The Bernie Mac Show My Wife and Kids, The Practice as well as Weekends at D.L. Handler started her professional career as a reporter on The Tonight Show. Handler got her most famous break in 2006 when she was named host on E! It was titled The Chelsea Handler Show. The show ran for two seasons. Handler was a part of Comedy Central's Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour the next year in the United States. VH1, Comedy Central Premium Blend as well as HBO have broadcast her stand-up performance. The show was announced as the host of The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards in 2010. It made her the 2nd woman in the history of television, after Roseanne Barr, to host VMAs.
